The R/V Ault sails into Greenland's uncharted Inglefield Fjord, well above the Arctic Circle some 800 miles from the North Pole. Ault is there to collect data for NASA's Ocean Melting Research Program. OMG is a 5-year study researching the health of the Greenland's icecap and its surrounding fjords.

Ault's mission is to identify a warmer, saltier water column that is coming up from the Atlantic and eating Greenland's glaciers from underneath.This is speeding up the Glacier speed towards the ocean, and therefore, the rate of melt. If the Greenland icecap were to melt, it would add 21 feet to searise globally causing massive coastal flooding.

On her return to base, Ault had to navigate through massive ice flows, dodge enormous icebergs, and was caught in a violent gale and received assistance when her engine failed from Norwegian warship (not filmed but see stills
